September Work Party
Sunday, 24th September 2017
Venue: Reed Path by Sluice Gate
Time: 10.30 - 12.30 hrs
The first working party of the 2017-18 season, is an exciting project to build an OTTER HOLT in the wetland area of the Local Nature Reserve. We shall use materials from the long-overdue coppicing, rejuvenating the wetland. Much of the tops of trees coppiced will be chipped and we shall be moving most of it to improve the path that leads into the reeds.
If the wet weather prevents our contractor from carrying out work before Sunday we shall clear the Reed Path using secateurs, shears, bow saws, and sickles. We shall bring our tools, but do feel free to bring your own.
Meet opposite the hut/barrier 200 metres down the Beach Access Road. Parking may be available in The Ship car park
Wellington Boots and gloves will be essential. We have a good stock of gloves, but you are welcome bring your own.
Come for the whole morning or drop in to suit.
Under 18s must be with a responsible adult.
