Venue: Wetland Area, Par Beach Local Nature Reserve
Time: 10.30 - 12.30 hrs
UPDATE: Conditions are looking good, but, WELLIES are a must for the Otter Holt part of the exercise!
We’ll try again! We couldn’t carry out this work in September as the water level was too high. The contractor has been on site and it is ready for us to do our bit to build an OTTER HOLT in the wetland area of the Local Nature Reserve. We shall use wood from the coppicing to build the holts and the pile of chippings will be used to improve the path that leads into the reeds.
If the wet water level rises again we may. Instead, have to clear the encroaching Sea Buckthorn on the main dunes path and the sand ramp from the Main Car Park.
Meet: opposite the hut/barrier 200 metres down the Beach Access Road. Parking may be available in The Ship car park.
Time: 10:30am to 12:30pm, come for the whole morning or drop in to suit.
Please wear suitable clothing for weather and conditions. Wellington Boots and gloves will be essential on this occasion. We have a good stock of gloves, but you are welcome bring your own.
We shall be bringing hand saws, slashers, secateurs and loppers for you to use
Under 16s must be with a responsible adult.
